Resilient design of discrete-time observers with general criteria using LMIs

چکیده
Much of the recent work on robust control or observer design has focused on preservation of stability of the controlled system or the convergence of the observer in the presence of parameter perturbations in the plant equations. The present work addresses the important problem of resilience or nonfragility which is the maintenance of convergence or performance when the observer is erroneously implemented due possibly to computational errors, e.g., round off errors in digital implementation or sensor errors. A linear matrix inequality approach is presented that maximizes performance in the implementation based on the knowledge of an upper bound on the error in the observer gain. Some design examples are provided for illustration purposes. @ 2005 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

Dynamical observers design for discrete-time descriptor linear systems
This paper addresses the problem of observer design for discrete-time descriptor systems by using a new concept of dynamical observer. The advantage of this new concept is the structure of this dynamical observer, which is more general than the Proportional-Integral observer and the Proportional observers. The sufficient and necessary conditions for the stability of the proposed dynamical obser...
متن کاملH∞ Filtering and state feedback control for discrete-time switched descriptor systems
In this paper, the problem of H∞ filtering for a class of discrete-time switched systems with unknown inputs is investigated. By using switched Lyapunov functionals, sufficient conditions for the solution of this problem are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Filtering is envisaged both with proportional and proportional integral observers. In addition, the results obtained...
متن کاملDesign of Luenberger Observers for a Class of Hybrid Linear Systems
An approach to estimation for a class of hybrid discrete-time linear systems using Luenberger observers is presented. The proposed Luenberger observer for such a kind of systems relies on the switching among different gains. Convergence conditions have been found to ensure the stability of the error dynamics and the related gains may be selected by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities (L...
متن کاملLinear matrix inequality approach for synchronization of chaotic fuzzy cellular neural networks with discrete and unbounded distributed delays based on sampled-data control
In this paper, linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach for synchronization of chaotic fuzzy cellular neural networks (FCNNs) with discrete and unbounded distributed delays based on sampled-data controlis investigated. Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional combining with the input delay approach as well as the free-weighting matrix approach are employed to derive several sufficient criteria in terms of...
متن کاملObserver design with guaranteed RMS gain for discrete-time LPV systems with Markovian jumps
In this paper we consider the problem of designing state observers with guaranteed power-to-power (RMS) gain for a class of stochastic discrete-time linear systems that possess both measurable parameter variations and Markovian jumps in their dynamics. It is shown in the paper that an upper bound on the RMS gain of the observer can be characterized in terms of feasibility of a family of paramet...
